Extraordinary Dinner at Belvedere Events Center Brașov
December 12, 2024 – A Unique Fusion of Art, Science, and Philanthropy
BOGDAN SIMION & Tarful Lăutarii de Mătase
And later, when science has had its say, it will be art’s turn to speak through Bogdan Mihai Simion and the Lăutarilor de Mătase, these guardians of a sonic heritage that endures through time just as diamonds withstand pressure. And what else is Simion’s cobza but an instrument for scanning the collective soul, what else are the melodies collected from the villages of Romania but our cultural memory? Accompanied by virtuosos such as Nelu Răducanu on the cymbalum and Mandi Pană on the violin, Simion will do nothing but practically demonstrate Professor Dulcan’s theory: that there is an intelligence to matter, that music is just another way of reading the genetic code of a people.
The Belvedere Events Center, a space that has embraced the role of a convergence point for the arts and sciences in the fortress of Brașov, will first host Professor Dulcan’s lecture, a man who has understood that there is a connection between neurons and stars that science is only beginning to decipher. The lecture will be moderated by Father Cristian Muntean (writer and poet from Brașov), as if this bridge between science and faith was needed to remind us that we are more than the sum of our parts. And it is no coincidence that part of the funds raised will go toward children with autism spectrum disorders, those pure beings who see the world in such a different way that they make us wonder if perhaps they are the ones who are right, and we are the ones who have lost something essential along the way.
This day of December 12th will be marked by such symmetry that it should stop us from our daily routines and make us contemplate the miracle: on one side, a scientist speaking about spirituality, on the other, an artist turning his art into science, and in the middle, an audience that will have the privilege of experiencing this rare fusion between reason and emotion, between research and art, between the past and the future. And perhaps this is exactly the role of the Kyrios Association: to create these bridges, to facilitate these seemingly impossible encounters, to remind us: culture is not a luxury, but a necessity as vital as the air we breathe.
